Eligibility to participate
Companies established in the state of Berlin are admitted to the competition.
Submissions from small and medium-sized companies are specifically welcome. The
competition is looking for application-oriented, marketable solutions and products based
on software and/or hardware which are characterized by a high degree of innovation and
great future potential. The prerequisite for the receipt of the prize money is the
fulfillment of the requirements under state aid law under the so-called "de minimis
rule" (see leaflet on de minimis aid for the Deep Tech Award 2019).
Formal framework conditions for submission of
All rights to the competition entry remain with the sender. The submission of
several competition entries is permitted. The sender shall ensure that his
competition entry is free of third-party rights.
The entrant is liable to the organizations sponsoring the competition for ensuring
that the entry and the submission do not infringe any rights of third parties.
Where appropriate, the sender will indemnify the organizations sponsoring the
competition against all claims and possible expenses incurred by third parties as a
result of an infringement.
When sending the submission documents, the sender agrees that the submitted works
(photographic material, etc.) may be used by the organizations sponsoring the
competition in the context of the application, documentation and reporting on the
competition and shall grant them all necessary rights of use. The rights of use of
the sponsoring organizations are not exclusive, but are unlimited in time and space
and apply to all known and unknown types of use.
The organizations sponsoring the competition are entitled to pass on the personal
data of the participant obtained in the context of the competition, such as names or
photographs, to third parties such as the media. If such disclosure is not desired,
the submitter will inform the organizations sponsoring the competition in writing at
the time of submission of the data to which the request for non-disclosure relates.
